Hillary Clinton the Lesbian. You're Kidding, Right?
06.29.05 (11:57 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

Democratic Underground has an article about conservatives defending Hillary Clinton against Edward Klein's accusation that Senator Clinton is a lesbian. I almost choked on my diet Sprite when I read that one. Not the accusation, but the conservatives defending Hillary.

Klein seems to think the mere whiff of that Arkansas smell of lesbianism is enough to derail Hillary's presidential future, which is typical. Conservatives attack gays whenever it suits them and then defend the privacy of Republican gays when someone questions their hypocrisy. The simple mention of someone like Mary Cheney causes them to shake like Katharine Hepburn on crystal meth.

Conservatives are fine with gays as long as they keep quiet, don't fight for their rights and don't "ram their lifestyle down people's throats," a frequent and unintentionally funny complaint when gays simply come out.

I agree. It's okay to out a Democrat who is gay -- or who they think is gay -- if they think it will ruin that person's chance to win an election. But out a conservative homosexual and radical anti-gay conservatives like Ann Coulter come to their rescue.

In Klein's book [i]The Truth About Hillary: What She Knew, When She Knew It, and How Far She'll Go to Become President[/i], he suggests that Hillary is a lesbian because she "talked about [lesbianism] a lot, [and] read lesbian literature." Hmm. . . I talk about straight people a lot and I read books by straight people. I guess that makes me straight. Apparently, Hillary also belonged to the "lesbian culture" in college. Do women join lesbian cultures during their pursuit to become president? I'm thinking Klein is brain dead.

We should write a book called The Anti-Hillary Club: How Far Will They Go To Keep Hillary Out the White House?

Investigation Into Teen Ex-Gay Camp Ends
06.28.05 (10:19 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

    Update on Religious Bootcamp Brainwashing

I started a blog entry on this a couple of days ago titled "Save a Horse, Ride a Blog Scandal," but I really got carried away with my nasty comments about liberals that I was afraid my readers would think I was crossing the fence and becoming a gay, Black, female Republican. Wouldn't that give LaShawn Barber and Andrew Sullivan a run for their money? I would be a talking head for the conservatives and I would have ALL the minorities covered. Wait. I'd have to be disabled, too. Damnit!

Anyway, Tennessee has concluded its investigation of the religious ex-gay "bootcamp" for teenagers that is supposed to cure all sorts of heathens of their sinful ways. The state's Department of Children's Services found no evidence of child abuse at the Refuge Camp.

While I do believe, without a doubt, that ex-gay camps for teens exist (and I do believe they are psychologically harmful), I'm not convinced that Zach's story is 100% true.

Personally, I can't believe parents are even paying for the Refuge program. It screams SCAM. Parents are required to bring their children to and from the camp -- which isn't really a camp since parents have to pay for lodging for themselves and their children (at a hotel, mind you) while their children are in the program. Parents are also required to pay for all meals (except lunch). In addition to paying for their own lodging and meals, they are then required to pay for the program itself ($1,500 - $4,500). This doesn't really sound like a bootcamp to me, at least not the bootcamp I attended when I joined the Navy.

My exhusband and I have completely different parenting styles. He would probably have no problem with sending our children to a Refuge type camp, while I would be completely against it. Which one of us is right? We have joint legal custody and we both have the right to decide one way or the other. In our case, if we couldn't agree, we would have to turn to the court to decide for us.

It's easier to attack Refuge because, honestly, none of us should be telling parents how to raise their own children. If we could cripple Refuge then we don't have to stick our noses in other people's business -- not really. After all, as liberals, isn't that what we keep complaining about? Conservatives sticking their noses in our business?

    Just a thought (or two) . . .

    Jerusalem Gay Pride Ban Overturned

A judge overturned a City Council ban on a gay pride event in Jerusalem, ordering the city to pay $6,600 to the gay and lesbian group for its legal fees and to underwrite the event. Ouch! It must really suck to have to pay for the homos to party.

Women in Combat, What's The Problem?
06.26.05 (8:52 pm) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

I knew this issue would resurface eventually, with various interest groups using the issue to push their own agenda (damn those conservatives for branding the word agenda in my brain).

Conservatives are discussing women in combat because they're using it as part of their agenda to push the little ladies back to the kitchen (or that tiny little desk outside the male Vice President's office -- the one with the multi-line phone).

Women are discussing women in combat (video) because we're countering the conservatives' move to push us back to the kitchen. We're also discussing it because we're not too excited about being included in any future drafts, so we're trying to figure out how to preach equality for women out one side of our mouths and effectively argue that women shouldn't be included in any future draft out the other side of our mouths. Yes, I'm sure I'm a feminist.

Spc. Heather Thibault talks about Bush's ban on women in combat. She says, "My job over there was to save lives and protect our troops . . . If my hands are bound because of my sex, what's the point of having us over there?"

And to respect her contribution, Elaine Donnelly wrote:

"No one's injured son should have to die on the streets of a future Fallujah because the only soldier near enough to carry him to safety was a 5'2", 110-pound female," wrote Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, a public-policy organization that pushed [Bush's decision] . . . . "

So fuckin' kind of Elaine to worry about someone's injured DAUGHTER, too.

Garfield Ridge points out how ridiculous it is that the US is using female soldiers mostly to check female Iraqis for weapons. Yes, this is necessary in order to respect their culture, but with the recruitment shortage, I can tell you, this is really not the best way to use all the resources the US military has available.

    [b]More bitching on this subject:[/b]

Women Who Get Shot At Can Say Anything They Want

She's as bitchy as I am, except she's conservative: Heather Thibault Part One: Women in Combat

Eric Rudolph Brags About Being a Punk
06.25.05 (10:06 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

Apparently, the USA's military isn't the only military acting in God's best interest.

The Army of God (caution, photos are purposely gruesome) an anti-abortion website has published a 5,500-word story written by Eric Rudolph -- the man boy who bombed the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 and a gay bar in 1997 -- about his adventures as he hid from authorities for 5 years. (yawn, stretch, yawn). The first thing I thought was, "here's a boy who thinks he's some kind of big shot for bombing a gay bar and the Olympics, but he's now running like the punk he so the cops don't pump his narrow little white ass full of lead. Hmm . . . " And then, the Army of God website brags about him running from the law for 5 years. Who would be impressed by that?

I have shit to do today. Be back later to vent some more.

Chicago Police Publish Photos of Alleged Sex Solicitors
06.24.05 (1:24 pm) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

Richard over at The All Spin Zone (love that blog title) sent me an email about the Chicago PD publishing photos of people who solicited prostitutes but haven't been convicted yet.

    He writes:

There are few things that friggin' bother me as much as infringment on personal privacy and civil liberties, especially in the absence of egregious circumstances. Over the past 30 years, we've really given up a lot in that regard. Just think about it the next time you have to do a random urine test at work. Or apply for a drivers license. Or open a new bank account. Or get busted for patronizing a local “working girl”.

This Chicago website is a page of images of people who were "arrested and charged for either patronizing or soliciting for prostitution." Where's the page for the people who are actually selling sex? Or, is it only illegal to buy sex? Don't tell me the only people selling sex are undercover police officers. I don't believe that for one minute.

Our local paper publishes all police calls, but I always thought they did it because the paper is really bad and needs items to fill space. I'm not sure how the Chicago PD publishing these photos is any different than the authorities publishing a WANTED photo when they're looking for someone they think is connected to an ongoing criminal investigation. The one difference I can think of is the intent. The Chicago PD's intent is to shame these men and make examples of them. How many family men want to see their photo on the Chicago PD's sex solicitation website?

You're Ruining My Chances to Get to Hell
06.23.05 (12:20 pm) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

I often receive very humorous emails from some not-so-smart individuals that just send me into hysterics. Many times, my responses end up posted on some jaded bitch's blog because she needed something to fill her empty spots (like this one time I told a blogger she needed to read up on what rights she really had under the First Amendment because commenting rights at SistersTalk were not included). Anyway, I received yet another funny-as-hell email that I just have to share. Chris writes:

I would be very cautious and think about what you are
    doing with your web site.

If there is a God and there is a hell. You should
read what the bible says about Lesbianism and
    homosexuality.

I am seriously praying for you in a good way that you
realize that its evil to have your web site up.

    Please take it down.

    Chris

    And I responded:

    Chris:

I'm actually looking forward to hell. I hear the party is fabulous and the women are HOT (no pun intended). I would appreciate it if you stop praying for me. You're ruining my chances to get to hell and attend the best party of the millenium.

    Sincerely,
    Genia

I don't know why so many people keep praying for me. I certainly didn't ask for it; however, I do accept gifts and cash donations. Email me if you want to know the PO BOX where you can send those items, oh generous ones.

Man Sentenced to Life Under Fetal Protection Law
06.21.05 (4:59 pm) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

Gerardo Flores, age 19, helped his girlfriend Erica Basoria, age 17, abort their baby by stepping on Erica's stomach. Flores received an automatic life sentence under the Fetal Protection Law; however, Erica was not convicted because of her legal right to obtain an abortion. Erica admitted she sought Gerardo's help in performing the abortion.

And here's where feminists often huff and toss my commentary to the shit pile. Prosecutors should have convicted both Erica and Gerardo or left them both alone. I don't feel Erica should have been treated any differently than Gerardo. A part of me feels Erica bears a heavier responsibility here. She's the one with all the the only rights to decide what to do with the baby since it's her body. I mean, that's what we as feminists (and yes, I am a feminist) keep proclaiming: It's my body, my right, leave me the hell alone. She decided to ask Gerardo for help. Why is Gerardo the only one going to prison -- if anyone has to go to prison at all?

I'm all for a woman's right to choose, but something is really wrong with this story. Anti-choice activists won't see the difference between Gerardo's actions and a licensed physician performing an abortion in a sterile environment that's safer for the mother. Pro-choice activists will argue that anti-choice activists have driven women like Erica to these extremes. I just wonder if Gerardo was cheaper than paying for an abortion so I won't fall for the politics of anti-choice victimization as quickly as others.

KKK Member Convicted of 40 Year Old Crime
06.21.05 (10:36 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

CNN reports that Edgar Ray Killen (pictured above) has been convicted of killing three Civil Rights workers 40 years ago during the Freedom Summer killings.

"The bodies of James Earl Chaney [age 21], Andrew Goodman [age 20] and Michael Henry Schwernerge [age 24] were discovered by FBI agents near Philadelphia, Miss., on Aug. 4, 1964. The three men, civil rights workers who came south to register African Americans to vote, were shot to death sometime on June 21. Their Ford station wagon was torched and their bodies were bulldozed 17 feet under an earthen dam. [source CNN]"

While some may see this as a 40-year-old crime that the liberals have dug up as some grudge against a frail old white man, I beg to differ. The same people would think differently if this was their mother or daughter -- even if Killen was lying on his death bed. Besides, we send 70-year-old men to prison all the time for sexual abuse. I don't know why we would have a problem sending this guy to prison for the part he played in murdering three people.

I'll have to keep my eye on the conservatives to see how they handle this issue. Updates to follow.

    Janesville, WI Gay Pride Celebration
06.20.05 (6:34 pm) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

If ya know anything about Janesville, WI you'll know a Pride celebration there is a bit out of the ordinary. But, June 18 was the 8th annual Sutherland Family Party -- the city's unoffical gay pride celebration.

I didn't attend last year's celebration (or the year before) but I was amazed at how large the event had grown. The party started at noon and gave us lots to do and see. Drag races, Karaoke (my favorite!), lots of food, even more beer, water balloon toss, tug-of-war, meet-and-greet, and a GREAT drag show at 8:30 (well, close to 9pm, you know how drag queens are).

I attended the party with a cute little lesbian couple who's been together for 22 years. One of the women actually found me doing a search for LGBT groups in Rockford. The SistersTalk entry on a gay Pride party I attended in Rockford, IL last year came up during her search and she emailed me. I enjoy being out there for locals who think all the gays in our area are in hiding.

So, if you're in the area and you want information on the Sutherland party, email me and I'll tell you who you need to contact to get your name on the mailing list for next year.

Again, check the gay pride events calendar for national listings. Chicago Pride is next weekend. I attended last year's event. Dayum!

Gay Father Wins Right to Appeal Ruling
06.17.05 (8:40 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

A gay father who had to force his partner to leave their home in order to maintain custody of his son has won a hearing that will allow him to challenge the ruling.

The mother moved to FL in 2000 and asked for custody, but a VA judge felt the father (who is deaf) was competent enough to have primary placement, as long as the father's partner moved out.

The father now has a chance to prove that his son was harmed by the court's decision. Personally, I would argue that the court had no right to meddle in the father's personal life -- as long the father's partner wasn't a sex offender or physically abusive.

Teenager Rapes Dog and 13 Year-Old Girl

A 17 year old has been charged with raping a dog, statutory rape of a 13 year-old girl, and molesting a 3-year old girl.

I'm waiting for one of my favorite comic relief bloggers to scream fake hate -- since the accused is a 17 year old white kid.

The dog died as a result of the rape and authorities are upgrading the charges to the "most serious animal cruelty charges they have on the books." As long as he gets charged with the worst charges they have on the books for raping that 13 year-old girl and molesting that 3 year-old girl, it's all good with me. I wouldn't want to see the system care more for a dog than they do 2 human beings.

The story (decent in length) was more about the dog than it was about those girls. But, it IS Fox News.

Catholic Church Tells Gay Dads To Act Straight in Public
06.16.05 (12:36 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

The Catholic school scandal that erupted when a gay male couple tried to enroll their twins in the church's kindergarten has resurfaced.

A memo written by St. John the Baptist School in Costa Mesa, CA states "[t]he children adopted by a same-sex couple" may enroll "on the condition that the same-sex couple agree not to present themselves as a couple at school functions."

This reminds me of those bumper stickers that say"I don't mind gay people -- as long as they act straight in public."

The Gay.com article is a bit misleading in that it says the fathers have been banned from school functions. While the fathers haven't been banned, the school has implemented a blatantly discriminatory policy. School officials argue that they want to adopt guidelines that require parents to display appropriate conduct. Appropriate conduct? What are they expecting these fathers to do? Invite all their leather buddies to their sons' musical recital for a play party?

Anyway, I'm still waiting for the good Catholics to make just as much fuss about those pedophile priests as they have about these two 5 year olds who have gay dads. How long do you think I'll be waiting? I need to know about how many snacks and books I should pack for the wait.

    Copyright Don Holmsten, 2004

I'm such a kinky bitch. Isn't that a wild photo? I have such a piercing fetish.

I was talking to a girl who had a great black and white photo of her face in her profile. I was drawn to it because it looked like a painting at first (since it was so tiny). She told me a photographer had done a series of photos on piercings. She vaguely remembered the website and I went off in search of this guy. I was pleased again and again, but a bit squeamish at times.
This photo was just adorable. I'm still feeling jaded about the whole gay marriage thing, so I skipped all the marriage photos. Feel free to browse amongst yourselves, though.

Coming back to this piercing fetish I've been hiding. I've been getting to know a very interesting and intelligent flight attendant for a little while and she shared a bit of information with me about clit piercings (I hate linking to About.com, but forgive me just this once). She said a friend of hers said she wanted to get her hood pierced because she could then use a magnet to masturbate. I'll pause while you think about that.

My first thought? Can I hold the magnet?

But seriously though, I've wanted to do the whole genital piercing thing, but I kinda need someone there to hold my hand (and pass me tissue when I start crying). Tattoo artists (who usually double as the people who poke holes in ya) are like doctors, they don't cry with you.

I just had a thought I've never had before. What would happen if my family back in GA read this blog?

Anyway, I do believe this post belongs in Sex & Sexuality.

Recruitment Numbers Down, Ignore Don't Ask Don't Tell
06.14.05 (7:00 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

All this talk of a draft is making people a bit nervous. But, the military seems to be doing what it can to avoid that. One of the things the military is doing is ignoring Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) with homosexuals deployed in Iraq. Less than one-quarter of all those homosexual soldiers and sailors discharged under DADT are from units deployed in Iraq, while the military discharged 653 homosexuals in critical specialties in 2004.

This makes me wonder if the government would use gay and lesbian soldiers to fight a war, kick them out once the war is over, then deny them full benefits as veterans. Why, I do believe our government would do that.

Smell that cool fresh scent of equality. Breathe deep, but try not to choke on it.

A Washington Post article (sorry, just can't bring myself to do that bloggers' "WaPo" thing) reads like an angry letter to Mom. It's a must-read. I won't dwell on MJ because I'm sure many bloggers will more than handle that issue.

    On to other things.

That Deep Throat ad reminds me of the porn series about oral sex. Ever since the Ex-FBI identified himself as Deep Throat, I can't stop thinking about that. I know it's a terrible connection, but how many of you can say you haven't thought about it at least once?

By the way, it's just a coincidence that I mentioned MJ and Deep Throat in the same post.

    Gays Should Wear Warning Labels

Well we do like our pride bracelets and necklaces, so a warning label shouldn't be too much to ask, right? Well . . . this is pushing it a bit far.

A "christian" group in New York City says gays should be required to wear warning labels. A spokesperson for the group says:

"We put warning labels on cigarette packs because we know that smoking takes one to two years off the average life span, yet we 'celebrate' a lifestyle that we know spreads every kind of sexually transmitted disease and takes at least 20 years off the average life span according to the 2005 issue of the revered scientific journal Psychological Reports," said Rev. 06.12.05 (2:14 pm) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

Paris Hilton will be the grand marshal of this weekend's Los Angeles GLBT Pride Festival and Parade. Some people are pretty shocked. Me? If we worship the likes of Angelina Jolie and Sharon Stone, I'm certainly not surprised Paris Hilton is our new icon.

One gay father said of Paris Hilton, "She's not the role model I'd want for my child. Or my community." Oh my.

Don't forget to check the gay pride events schedule.

    Religious Bootcamp Brainwashing
06.12.05 (9:26 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

Zach, a 16 year old who recently came out to his parents, is writing a blog from (?) a religious camp called Refuge. I've received several emails about Zach's blog and this blog seems to be making quite a stir among the liberal bloggers.

Check out Refuge and see what's up. Also, you can contact Tommy Corman at 901.751.2468.

Something is bothering me a little about all this. I'm just a wee bit curious how Zach got all that camp information copied to his blog when he's supposedly on lockdown and can't have access to the internet, email or a cellphone. There's a lot of information on the blog and it's a bit much to follow.

Now, as for scaring someone straight? I don't know if you can scare someone straight, but I know you can scare someone into pretending to be straight. Isn't that what the Ex-Gay movement is all about?

Lessons Learned at the Gay Bar
06.11.05 (11:14 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

While looking for Black women bloggers to feature at Blogs by Women, I found a blog written by a straight Black man who had a rather interesting experience in a gay bar. Humanity Critic said:

A few months back when we had a pretty bad snow storm(bad for Virginia) Danny and I looked for a place to drink. We went everywhere, that bar up the street was closed, 5 bars that we went to in our city was closed, 3 bars that we went to in a neighboring city were closed, we were officially fucked. As we come back home dejected after not finding a place to drink at, we both look over and see that the gay bar is open. We briefly look at each other, thinking the same thing and I say, "Fuck no! Hell no man!" Danny replies, "You are supposed to be the liberal here, all excepting of everyone and shit. What gives?" I reply, "It's not about them being gay, but what if I see some girl there that I know?" "What are you talking about", he says. I say, " OK, when I used to go to this lesbian bar to check out some bi-curious chicks I would often see girls that I knew. No matter how much they told me that they were "just there for a drink", I would always think they were full of shit. If I saw a girl there that I knew there would be no explaining that!" Danny turned the car around and said, "I'm getting drunk so fuck you!"

The rest of his entry is very funny -- and moving. Head over and read it.

Lesbian Custody Case Moves to State Supreme Court
06.11.05 (3:45 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

Southern Voice has an update on the Vermont custody battle between a divorced lesbian couple.

The couple was joined by civil union in Vermont. After the couple separated, Lisa Miller-Jenkins, the birth mom, took the child and moved to Virginia. Lisa used an anti-gay law in Virginia to keep Janet Miller-Jenkins from having access to the child. The case will now move to Vermont's State Supreme Court. Good luck to Lisa. I get the feeling her luck is running out.

    Gay Wheels Dot Com
06.11.05 (3:13 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

The first website designed to target the gay car enthusiast will launch on June 12: Gaywheels.com.

Gaywheels.com provides a gay-friendly way to research and buy a car or truck and related services. Users of the site will be able to investigate which automakers and other automotive companies offer domestic partner benefits to their employees, thus qualifying them as "gay-friendly." With that information at hand, they can make an educated choice when beginning the car-buying process.

My first thought? This site will be in the dot com graveyard within 6 months. I think there's a difference between working for a company and buying from a company. As we see from Wal-Mart, many Americans will buy from the company that offers them the most for their money -- even if that company does not extend domestic partner benefits to same-sex couples.

Are we getting a little gay-happy? Do we really need a Gaywheels.com? Consumers are really beginning to place companies in the middle of our morals and values wars. Have we really placed them there, or are companies choosing a side all in the name of the almighty dollar?

I was talking to a friend who was upset that New Orleans had struck down a law that would provide domestic partner benefits to city employees and allow same-sex couples to register as domestic partners in the city. "New Orleans is so gay friendly," she said. "There are signs and rainbow flags in all the businesses." I told her New Orleans was gay-money friendly. There's a difference. Come here and spend your money. We don't give a damn who ya are!

All these progressive companies that are implementing gay-friendly employee policies are doing good business. It gives companies a larger pool of qualified candidates to choose from. Maybe that's what bugging the good ol' boys. All that competition. Gay friendly businesses attract gays and lesbians who want to work in an environment they feel will be the most conducive to their chosen career path.

Back to Gaywheels.com. I doubt I will use the site -- at least not for the purpose it was designed. Unless a company is known for killing women, children, and small animals, I will buy a car from them if it's at a price I can afford. I know. I'm such a bad gay person.

    Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?
06.10.05 (3:28 pm) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

It's obvious I needed a break. I'm feeling like my old self. I'm back.

Thank you Tari and Aaron for keeping me updated during my time away. Tari really needs to start her own blog. She's all over it!

Let's see, where do I start?

Tari sent me the book review Lost Coz: Is Bill Cosby Right? Or Has the Black Middle Class Lost Its Mind?. Tari doesn't want us to forget that Cosby isn't necessarily the voice of righteousness for the Black middle class. He did get another woman pregnant while he was married and pretty much bribed her with cash to keep her quiet. Read more details about the Cosby payments.

Aaron kept me updated with details about the oil-happy Bush administration (WTF? Have we sunk to a new low?) to downplay links between emissions and global warming. [use Bugmenot to access NYT]. More details here.

Do Black people belong in zoos? This story made Aaron laugh.

Oh baby I'm cumming. (Aaron really tried to pull me out of hibernation with that one!).

10 Most Harmful Books of the 19th and 20th Centuries
06.02.05 (2:18 pm) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

I love my alma mater. Tari sent me yet another reason to love them even more. At my alma mater, I read all these books -- except 3.

According to Human Events Online, The Feminine Mystique, is #7 on the list of the top 10 most harmful books of the 19th and 20th centuries. I didn't want to click on any of the Amazon links provided because I wasn't sure if that site would get paid if I decided to buy any of the books. I wouldn't dream of supporting those rat bastards.

    Here's the list:

1.The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Freidrich Engels
    2. Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler [even I disagree with this one]
    3. Quotations from Chairman Mao by Mao Zedong
    4. The Kinsey Report by Alfred Kinsey
    5. Democracy and Education by John Dewey
    6. Das Kapital by Karl Marx
    7. The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan
    8. The Course of Positive Philosophy by Auguste Comte
    9. Beyond Good and Evil by Freidrich Nietzsche
    10. General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money
    by John Maynard Keynes

You must read the biased summaries -- the reasons these books made the list. And don't forget to check the glowing biographies of the "professionals" who decided these books are the worst of the 19th and 20th centuries. I didn't see Mel Gibson or Ann Coulter, so I was a wee bit disappointed. One thing I noticed is that there are a lot of professors missing the "DR" in front of their name. Hell, I could be a professor at a college with an MBA. I could've been a professor at the local 2 year school with just a BA. So, don't let that fool ya.

White Coaches Less Likely to Hire Black Assistants
06.01.05 (7:24 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

Now this should get the Black conservatives all fired up. Give them somethin' to spin, spin, spin!

A recent study by Texas A&M shows that white head coaches are less likely than their Black counterparts to hire Black assistant coaches.

Texas A&M's Laboratory for Diversity in Sport surveyed 191 Division I men's basketball programs and found blacks make up 30% of assistants on the staffs of white head coaches and 45% of assistants to black head coaches.

One of the things I found statistically odd was that in college basketball, 28% of the Division I head coaches are Black, while 52% of the players are Black. What is that saying? I know at least one Black conservative who will say colleges are allowing Black students in who don't meet the grades just so they can play basketball; these students are then leaving college and doing what with their lives? Becoming thugs, that's what! But she's chuck full-o-shit so we won't listen to her.

    Any other ideas?

I can honestly say, as a former HR Manager, I never used a training video that included "off-color racial jokes, lesbian porn, a spoof of gay marriage and a trio of buxom, topless blondes frolicking." But guess who did!

There's a time and place for everything, "and that's college." Quick, where's that line from?

Another AFA Boycott Scheduled for 9 Years
06.01.05 (6:54 am) posted by Genia vote for me on digg and reddit

After the AFA ended its Disney boycott in disgrace, trying unsuccessfully for 9 years to bully the company into submission, the "christian" organization has turned its attention and resources to Ford. The AFA says:

[Ford], the second-largest U.S. automaker has given thousands of dollars to gay rights groups, offers benefits to same-sex couples and actively recruits gay employees . . .

    Ford says in response:

"Ford values all people, regardless of their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation and cultural or physical differences," Ford vice president of human resources Joe Laymon said.

Translation, from a new MBA: If you have the money, we don't give a fuck who ya are. Look ma, I speak fluent businessese.

So, I expect the AFA will be ending its Ford boycott, unsuccessfully, in 9 years -- give or take a few months.
