Just imagine how I damn near choked to death on my coffee when I read this interesting bit of news this morning. I couldn't even rush here to gloat I was so surprised:
With respect to the question of relationships, my general view is that freedom means freedom for everyone. People … ought to be free to enter into any kind of relationship they want to.
--Dick Cheney on Gay Marriages
Now, why would I be gloating? Well, it's not because I'm elated that the 2nd in command of those-who-think-they-are- almighty has suddenly decided to agree with those-who-keep-getting-fu cked-over that we do have the right to enter into any kind of relationship we damn well please. Oh no, I'm gloating because Dick and Bush (no pun intended -- ok maybe just a little) can't seem to agree on the one issue they turned into a major political fiasco for months.
Man, how I wish I could have videotaped that moment so I could then play it on rewind constantly for the DrinkThis woman. I do believe that now makes Dick arrogant also. How dare he believe that homosexuals would have the right to even think about marriage!
So, now. . . I'm still waiting for that weenie of a lesbian daughter of theirs to stand up and say something. Two down, one more Cheney to go.
I read something in the Associated Press that the Republican party is now pushing even harder for a gay ban in order to show a unified front. Oops! Too late. Your front looks kinda backwards to me.

So, I read this piece on Kerry's new mess -- the one Dole commented on. I then read the piece again. And again. Now, I'm sitting back and thinking about the many pieces I've read by the same author who would gladly criticize the Republican presidential candidate had he found himself in the same boat.
Instead, I see a plea to Kerry supporters to withhold judgement, and view Kerry's only mistake as "not getting out ahead of it sooner."
I have my biases. I dislike Kerry; however, I dislike Dubya too. You'll always read a healthy dose of disdain for both characters here.
Just get this election over, please -- so all those smart-asses can start their I-told-ya-sos when their candidate starts screwing up the economy, raising taxes, slashing funding for much needed programs, and accepting payoffs to turn their heads while pharmaceutical companies fuck over the elderly. At this point, I say all those things will happen regardless of who wins the election.

At first, I went off to play with a woman I started dating. You know how that goes: you meet a woman, you're having a great time, you can't stay away from her, you're enjoying all those walks along the river, and then . . . you realized you haven't worked in a couple of weeks. Well, at least I realized that since I'm self-employed and can do whatever the hell I damn well please. So, I had to get back to work (doing those things that pay the bills) and the SistersTalk blog had to suffer some neglect for a little while.
Yes, the woman is still around. Her name is J. Great find she is. Yes indeed. But, it's time to get back to ranting about Dubya and Kerry. Especially since I noticed this interesting piece on noguru's blog:
"One day he's saying that we were shooting civilians, cutting off their ears, cutting off their heads, throwing away his medals or his ribbons," Dole said. "The next day he's standing there, 'I want to be president because I'm a Vietnam veteran.' Maybe he should apologize to all the other 2.5 million veterans who served. He wasn't the only one in Vietnam," said Dole, whose World War II wounds left him without the use of his right arm. --Dole's comments about Kerry
Another allegation is that Kerry was not under enemy fire as after-action reports say he was, an incident for which he received a Bronze Star, one of five medals earned in Vietnam.
When I read this, I immediately thought, "what's the difference between this lie and Dubya's lies?" -- if he lied. I mean, I've never thought much of Kerry to begin with. The theory has always been, from what I've been hearing from the pro-Kerry homosexuals out there, that we're being forced to choose one evil over another evil. So, I'm not seeing too much of a difference here. One liar is no better than another liar -- well, according to God's law: you know, the law the Conservative Right likes to live by.
I keep seeing this ad pop up on my other blog (and I'm going off on a tangent here) by the infamous Abercrombie babe (and that's not my description of her, that's her own description of herself). Her latest philosophical discussion is the gay marriage debate. Dear lord. I'll have to come back to that issue later.
Anyway, I missed out on so many interesting discussions while I was off . . . playing. The NJ governor's big gay confession and some smart (or greedy, however you want to view it) entrepreneur who started putting McGreevey-related items on eBay.
The tblog verbal war is in high gear, I see. And damn, I missed it!
A Kerry fundraiser visited my home about 2 weeks ago. As much as it pained me to do so, I had to refuse to contribute to his campaign. I hate to see Dubya win just as much as any other bleeding heart liberal (I said that to make Jim cringe), but I can't (in good faith) contribute to Kerry's campaign if I don't feel he's the best person for the job. Screw the overused fear tactic of Ya wanna be stuck with Bush for four more years? For everyone who readies their fingers to type that in my comment box, I say to you: Why don't you contribute enough to Kerry for the both of us?
I have so much catching up to do. But, at this point old news is just that, old news.
